Hemmesjö old church

The church was build from natural stone and whitewashed chalk. The walls thickness is between 0.8 and 1.1 meters, so its cool inside even in the summer, and TERRIBLY cold in winter.

In 1175 the church was finished high up in Hemmesjö, with a beautiful view of Hemmesjö lake. The church has a baptismal font of sandstone from the 1200's, an altar screen with the saint St. Sigfrid of from about 1500, a Madonna image and a triumph crucifix.
